Shadow Glen Family Stables is pleased to offer scenic one-hour and two-hour western trail rides in the American River/Lake Natoma area. All horseback rides are fully guided by wranglers knowledgeable of the area you'll be riding through. Some of the wildlife you may encounter include Mule Deer, Black-Tail Jackrabbit, Western Gray and Douglas Squirrel, Turkey Vultures, and Red-tailed Hawk. Reservations must be made by phone at least one day prior to the anticipated ride date – we have guides on call during the fall and winter season, but we have to let them know they will get the pleasure of riding with you the night before. Please call in advance so we can have the right horse and guide waiting for you! Rides may be canceled (or rescheduled) due to high temperatures, heavy rain and/or heavy wind – riders will be notified the morning of the ride if it is going to be canceled.
